Sturf.

So, I have been pretty busy at the minute doing work etc. I have been drawing in colour (for a poster for children) finally printed my lithograph after 4 weeks of labour and made a poster about maths. We also went on a night time ride to the stone arch bridge which was v. fun and brilliant for downtown minneapolis views- check out some photos on millie's blog here. Still having an amazing time...its the black and white ball soon so have an excuse to go thrifting soon...

Walk Cycle

So I finally finished my walk cycle. Its pretty awful compared to the majority of the class, but I'm still a tiny bit proud. It's the first time I've made something move. Even if she does look like there is something wrong with her.

Was looking through some old work, forgot how much I enjoyed making these.

free & free

Me and Millie collaborated on this postcard, very quickly, for an exhibition out friend is curating all about free...it's not brilliant but it was v. impromptu. We're mending the broken bonds between Brighton graphics and illustration...

She's old.

One month aniversary

So, I have been here a month now and summer has returned to Minneapolis, so enjoying the glorious sunshine. Cycled out to Lake Calhoun again to have a swing on the beach. In other news, seeing as there is no tea in America worth speaking of, I have steadily become addicted to coffee instead, resulting in a caffeine boosted twitch. In the middle of  lots of projects at the minute, including a collaboration with Millie so will put some more work up soon. Still as happy as ever...

There is too much corn syrup in America.

Yesssss, I have been screenprinting this weekend and it felt SO good. Although I chose some slightly odd colourways.

Life at MCAD

So, the work is finally piling on, the feeling of being on holiday is drifting away, and I'm embracing a new intense work style. I feel pretty amateur here as pretty much all the illustration students work really stylised or on computers and seem to know loads about everything. Maybe they will like my crude and primitive drawings of old men. I'm enjoying all my classes, but finding it hard to adjust to being a complete beginner in animation and lithography....im trying though- should be a pro when i get home!
Been on a few bike rides at dawn with my flatmate to a nearby lake which has been brisk but beautiful. Currently am waiting for my new screen to arrive because im DYING to start screenprinting......
