I am pleased to be exhibiting some work within the 'Nostalgia and Progress' exhibition at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery in Leeds which opens today.
The exhibition will be showcasing the work of major post-war British illustrators including Edward Bawden, Charles Keeping and Edward Ardizzone, as well as showing a selection of work from contemporary illustrators inspired by this era.
It sounds like a lovely show and is on till 28th February so make sure to go if you are in the Leeds area.
More information about the exhibition and artists included HERE.

I know we all want to forget about Christmas for a little bit but it is only a month (almost!) till we start counting down to Christmas...
I have produced a new screen printed advent calendar as well as a rerun of last years one as it seemed to be very popular so now you can see Christmas inside and outside the house! All printed by The Print Block in Whitstable.
Calendars are either 2 or 3 colour screen prints depending on which you go for, a4 and only £10 each including p+p. If you are interested in purchasing one (or many!) send me an email at email@example.com with your address and I can take payments by PayPal, bank transfer or good old cheque!

I am pleased to have a print displayed as part of the current exhibition that has just opened at the Sir John Soane Museum. 'Peace Breaks Out!' focuses on the summer of 1814 when Europe celebrated peace after the Treaty of Paris following the fall of Napoleon. The Soane Museum, working alongside Spitalfields Life chose 6 contemporary artists to produce work in response to this exhibition. Many of the items in this exhibition are souvenirs celebrating the peace brought about at the end of the war. I thought it would be interesting to record these as a print, which in itself can become a souvenir of this exhibition and commemorate the stylistic influences that crossed the newly- reopened channel from Paris.Prints will be available at the museum and also online here. I am delighted to be shown alongside Adam Dant, Romilly Saumerez Smith, Laura Knight, Bridie Hall and Paul Bommer. The exhibition runs until 13th September.

Another sneak peak at something I have been working on for Ernest Journal - who have just celebrated the launch of their first print issue this weekend. It will be a print helping you to identify Things you can fish from a Kayak...still being produced but will be available to purchase soon (along with the magazine online here!)
Here is my full image made for SOMA's 10th Anniversary print box set. Mine was inspired by a visit (a little while ago now) to the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow. The 10 prints are all available to view and buy in the gallery in Bristol, as well as online. A steal at only £30 each and the whole box set of ten for £275 it'd be rude not to!

A sneak peak at a print made for SOMA Gallery's 10th Anniversary. As part of the celebration there will be a birthday-day this Saturday at the gallery in Bristol launching 10 prints by 10 different artists to be sold individually and as limited edition box sets. Will reveal the rest later in the week...!

While I was away I saw some great quilt exhibitions including 'Quilt and Color' at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and an even better one (but unfortunately photography wasn't permitted!); 'Homefront and Battlefield: Quilts & Context in the Civil War' at the New York Historical Society which had some stunningly rendered illustrative quilts depicting the passing of civil rights and also women's rights. I would reccommend both to anyone in either area!

Any of you who came along to the National Stationery Week event at Fortnum's this weekend will have spotted these but for those who didn't - here is a look at a rather large personal project I have decided to take on this year. I am producing an A-Z of screen printed animals; each print is 4 colours, 60 x 60cm and will retail at £120 each. A big thank you already to Suki at The Print Block who will be printing these...
I am trying to keep my head down to work through the other 23 letters (!) so I can try and exhibit them altogether before the year is through. Here is the first - A for armadillo.

I am excited to be showing some of my work and talking about my work process with the team of Roger La Borde (who produce my range of greetings cards) at Fortnum and Mason's next weekend as part of National Stationery Week. The event begins on Monday 31st March with a variety of events and happenings each day of the week.
I will be in the stationery department on the third floor between 12 and 6 on Saturday 5th April with sketchbooks, notebooks et al and am going to be launching a new print based project I am very excited about that I have been working on in 2014, aswell as selling other screenprints alongside Roger La Borde's grand collection of cards and gift wrap- if you are around do pop in to say hello and get yourself a print, a nice notebook or a lovely Roger La Borde card.
Above is an illustration by the king of Fortnum and Mason's design - Edward Bawden...you'll have to come instore to see my new things (and get a very extravagant Easter egg).

Just seen a project I was working on at the end of last year is out in the ether now. I was commissioned by project agency MOVE in Brazil to produce black and white illustrations for a range of daily nutrients (the Santo Habito range) that they were designing the packaging for, for Farmacias Associados. I am really pleased with how they turned out....good to see something like this well designed and packaged for a change.

Spotted my March-April flier for gigs at Cecil Sharp House while there at a meeting the other day - Looking great there with a newly refurbished cafe, new exhibition up and finally a lift! Also a great run of gigs coming up - can't wait for the St David's Day festival organised by Green Man Festival!
