A couple of illustrations from the current issue of Coast.
An extension of the Christmas poster I did- Suki has been printing this week to make it into the Print Block Christmas card for this year!
More pop ups! Fitted in a vist to the lovely Field Work shop and gallery on Rivington Street which is jam packed full of wonderful folky and decorative things perfect for Christmas presents - including some lovely hand bound note books by my friend Lotte Beatrix. The shop is curated and organised by Rose de Borman and Caitlin Hinshelwood who both produce very desirable hand printed and drawn textile products. Popped down yesterday to the Nothing but Navy store on Berwick Street which is filled with, well, nothing but navy products including some lovely hand made crockery by studio mate Hazel Stark.Field work photos from http://thepoundshop.org/field-work-pop-up-shop/.
Finally got a chance this weekend to visit upstairs studio mate Lu Flux's pop-up shop in Spitalfields market - and it did not disappoint! She has displayed a wonderful selection of her trademark patchwork pieces as well as cushions, scarves, jumpers and more - my favourite is the 'Home Sweet Skirt' If you're lucky you may even catch a glance of Burt the dog. Make sure you visit before it shuts on Christmas Eve - it is very inspiring! All photos © Lu Flux.
Christmas cards inspired by Christmas Sally Army bands!
A little look on various things I have been working on recently...
Some of my staffordshire figures for the clumsy are going to be in this KK outlet organised pop-up in chinatown LA...unlikely - but if you're in the area pop in to check it out - lots of great Christmas present ideas!
Last day tomorrow! The Gentle Author will be at Ben Pentreath from 3pm to sign copies of Spitalfields Life - it's been a great show so if you have a chance make sure to go!
It's that time again! The 20143 season brochure for CSH- you can download a pdf HERE and see what's on the cards next year!
Make sure you go - there is sure to be some treats!
After seeing the above roller fabric printing block at the Ethnographic museum in Krakow I was very pleased to come across a whole box of them at the Krakow Sunday fleamarket for a steal of a price (unfortunately hand luggage already crammed with books meant I could only buy one) - I have just tried it out making some (secret) Birthday wrapping paper and it is a brilliant graphic motif - very pleased!
Another date for your diaries, in just a month's time - the Designers/Makers Winter Market in Festival Village. 50 Designers/ Makers from across the UK will be selling their products along with affordable gift workshops, demonstrations and festive food and drinks.
Looking back at quick sketches in my notebooks always amuses me...
Just a glimpse of some of my favourite things from the brilliant folk collection at the Ethnographic Museum. I'm desperate to use crepe paper for absolutely everything now.
